When you are charged
The day the money moves, and what happens if a payment does not go through.
Invoices are charged on the day they are issued, not on the due date. For most accounts that is the first of the month.
The invoice reaches you by email that morning, before the payment is taken, so you always see the amount before any money moves.
The due date printed on the invoice is a deadline, not the day we collect. It only matters if the automatic payment did not go through: you then have until that date to pay it yourself.
- Paying by card: on the day the invoice is issued it is taken from the card on file, unless there is credit on the account to use instead. There is nothing for you to do.
- Paying by bank transfer: on that same day it is collected from your bank account, unless there is credit on the account to use instead. Again, nothing to do.
- Paying by check: make it out to KJONGSys LLC, write the invoice number on it, and put it in the post. Nothing is ever taken from a card or a bank account, and the due date allows for the post.
That is how your recurring invoices work. A one-off invoice, such as one raised from a quote you accepted, is never taken automatically, even with a card on file. You pay it yourself from the invoice page, using your saved card if you like, and the invoice page says so.
If a payment does not go through
Nothing is taken, and nothing is tried again on its own. We turn your automatic payments off so that no second attempt can happen without you, and we email you the same day to say so.
The invoice stays open, and you have until the due date on it to pay. Pay it yourself from the invoice page, using a saved card if you have one. If it is still unpaid after the due date you get a reminder by email one day after, then again at five days, then at fifteen.
Most failures are a card that expired or was reissued. The attempt that failed is not repeated on its own, so pay this invoice from the invoice page. Putting a new card or bank account in, either there as you pay or on the How you pay page, turns your automatic payments back on by itself, for the invoices after this one.
If the timing is difficult, or the money is not there this month, say so. Reply to the invoice email or call 989-273-2839. We would rather hear from you than chase you.
